"Nobody cares if you can't dance well. Just get up and dance. Great dancers are not great because of their technique, they are great because of their passion." ~ Martha Graham

Dance is for everyone, all ages, shapes and sizes. Come along and join in the fun at our beautiful Southport studio. Dance like no one is watching...or like the Bollywood stars in the movies. The choice is yours.

Bharat Natyam, classical dancing, is an ancient style of dance, more than 2000 years old, from South India with sharp footwork and mudras..

Increasingly popular, Bollywood dances are the hottest dances around. From the glamour and colourful costumes (sequins, bling, shawls, skirts, harem pants, sarees, colour!) of Bollywood movies, the dance is contemporary, informal, vibrant, colourful, exhilarating and so much fun with its emphasis on the musicality, beat, catchiness and storytelling: celebratory, seductive, sad, a love song, various songs for different occasions.
For some people, it's a fun form of exercise, and even people with two left feet can still learn and have fun. It's a great workout for the brain, because you have to remember the steps ... and it's a great way to remain active.
For others, the appeal is in learning the dances themselves, which include a range or dance gendres ranging from the classical kathak,  to hip-hop, and Bollywood zumba.

Students perform regular concerts for charity, community projects, Bollywood themed occassions, such as weddings, birthdays, hen's  classes, work functions, parties and would love to share their joy more widely. Among the highlights over the years have been Bollywood Australia's involvement in the far north Queensland aboriginal community, various cultural concerts and working in a movie or two.

Classes: 4 x 9 week terms in a year.

Classical Bharat Natyam Dance (children + adults) - personal training,  y appointment
Bollywood Dance - Sat 11:15am-12 noon

Learn about the dance of life,
to move the pattern of energy,
and to find and connect with your own personal rhythm. The body is like a musical instrument. It has its own vibration. The history of dance is interesting. Some dances can break up negative energy patterns. Some are used for prayer and calling spirits.

Classes are so exhilarating and so much fun. They bring you joy, teach you to dance, to move energy, to get on with your life if you have got stuck.

In Bollywood dance there are no rules, no right or wrong, no competition. It’s not maths. Art is an expression from the heart, not the head. The Bollywood rhythms and catchy drumbeats will get your hips shaking, your arms moving, and your feet stomping. Bollywood dance encourages movement of all parts of the body. It is great fun, a good workout, and a sure way to relieve stress.

Come and give yourself and Bollywood a go. Move and flow, breathe and sweat. Bollywood Australia celebrates active minds and bodies. Work off the weight and be slim and trim for life. Even if you have 3 left feet, no experience, no partner required. All you need to bring is your excitement, a smile and you'll be sure to have a good time.

Be inspired, shape up and discover a fitter, happier and healthier you. Classes are open to all ages.
