Philosophy, Spirituality and Meaning

Who am I?
Why am I here?
How am I to live?

A generous heart, kind speech, and a life of service and compassion
are the things that renew humanity.

Never before have we had such a wealth of resources for awakening and growth. We have access to ancient meditation, prayer and journey practices, from the Vedas, Yoga and Ayurveda, Buddhist, Taoist, Christian, Sufi and shamanic lineages, in addition to modern psychospiritual systems. Yet, in the midst of this cornucopia of wisdom, one of the greatest challenges of our day, is how to relate to the many wisdom streams from which we can now easily draw, and how to experience these teachings and practices in a deep, whole-body way and gain a nuanced understanding of how they fit together for our optimum development; and how we can respond to the universal presence of a Reality beyond and within us, whether experienced religiously or non-religiously..

Life mastery is about the awakening journey that calls us away from the artifically constructed world, and into something real and meaningful. However, it's not simply about waking up to a new reality. Before you can embody this reality, you must navigate within the matrix, your own 'inner matrix' which requires a shift in your perceptions of yourself and your abilities, so that you can spark deep, spiritual realisations, and cultivate real-world excellence. It is the dual yoga of ascent and descent that weaves the fabric of your mind and heart together into a tapestry of wholeness, providing both a powerful awakening and divine embodiment at the same time.

This work is really at the heart of a modern spiritual path, which rarely takes place in monasteries any more, which focus mainly on the awakening side of the equation. It's the blend of both the 'outer' and the 'inner' worlds, accessing the 'heights' of consciousness and spirit that give us a transcendent consciousness, and a wide-angle lens on our daily life, with the soulful depths of out life force embodied and grounded in the individual juice of life, fusing the depths of spiritual realisation and worldly success. When we marry these currents, enlightened and wise, illumined and deep, selfless and self-expressed, and practice this union in the world of careers and families, entrepreneurship and community, a deeper kind of mastery that fuses a spiritual awakening with the manifestation of your gifts is manifested. In this fusion a truly fulfilling, even amazing life is born.

The meaning of life is a philosophical question concerning the significance of life or existence in general. It can be expresses in various forms, such as 'Why are we here?', 'What is life all about?', and 'What is the purpose of existence?' This has been the subject of much philosophical, scientific and theological speculation throughout history, with a large number of proposed answers to these questions from many different cultural and ideological backgrounds.

Universal spiritual principles lie at the heart of all great religious traditions, forming a metaphysical Oneness that pervades them all. However, the true teachings of the great spiritual teachers far transcends the dictates of membership in particular religious traditions. The former are all inclusive, the matter most often exclusive. The spiritual path is like any other, with potholes and detours that compliment the bliss and awakening. Discernment is one of the most important qualities needed on the spiritual journey, and yet rarely taught. To separate truth from falsehood and avoid many of the pitfalls that await the traveller, here is real world, grounded wisdom needed by all contemporary seekers. Cultivate the insight needed to live a healthy, genuine, moment to moment awareness of a spiritual life with intelligence, authenticity, and from personal experience. Embrace the vision you desperately yearn to fulfil and embark on your path to perfection and true joy.
  • What is spirituality anyway?
  • Education in values: Feeding the hungry heart or the hungry ghost?
  • Spiritually transmitted diseases, common traps of spiritual materialism and how to avoid them
  • The healing crisis and 'life raft' for such times
  • Unmask what keeps you stuck
  • Unearth your heart's desire and life's purpose
  • Balance body, mind and spirit
  • Find the flow
  • Fully integrate spirituality into daily life for potent transformations
  • Mindfulness, peace, forgiveness, infinite compassion and actualisation of the inner light as the common path
  • Live your most extraordinary life.

You dance inside my chest,
where no one sees you,
but sometimes I do,
and that sight becomes this art.

Namaste
(nah-mas-tay)
My being honours your being.
I honour the place within you
where the entire universe resides,
in love, fullness, truth and peace
because it is also within me.
In this sharing we are united,
we are the same,
we are one,
all is one.
