The Shanti Yoga Health Institute Australia's leadership position

Established in 1972, Shantiji founded a yoga training centre that raised the standards for teachers everywhere. Initiated into yoga and ayurveda from the land of her birth, and the birth of yoga, India, with real, live, spiritual mentors, a dynamic peer-group, and colleagues who care, the Shanti Yoga genesis has provided us with an unfair advantage. Drawing upon our deep heritage, we offer you the opportunity to learn, heal, grow and experience the traditional ways through our educational programs, events, workshops and retreats.
 
Health Institute Australia exists specifically to share our unfair advantages in terms of education, branding, leadership platform, and graduate-level yoga studies with a small group of teachers, who like us, would like to make a change in the world by making a huge shift in their lives. Our curriculum and training has been modelled (copied!) by other schools. Now Yoga has become hugely popular with hundreds of styles and approaches internationally, with the bulk of the yoga industry controlled by non-yoga people. Making what you love into a livelihood, turning a yoga teaching job into a career, requires more than a 200-500 hour yoga training course!  
 
Our international courses deliver to the next generation of yoga professionals, Our training is for people passionate about authentic yoga and health, aspiring yoga teachers, would-be workshop founders, retreat leaders, studio-owners who want more than a certificate. Here you receive education and support that fuses face-to-face, in-person learning and mentoring, old-school apprenticeship, living yoga retreats, intensives, homestudy and new technology. If accepted, you will be nurtured for a lifetime of learning and teaching from startup to success to build a teaching and business platform as a local leader in your community.
 
Accepted students have access to unmatched resources, business opportunities, branding and support through the International Shanti College and our network, with headquarters at the Health Institute, on the Gold Coast in Australia.

We believe theory and practical work are both important. Our courses teach the principle and how to apply this philosophy so essential to keep pace with living in the 21st century.

The pace that is right for you
People need to learn at their own pace. There is no pressure to keep up, no slow learners to hold you back. If you are a beginner you start with the basics, if you already know some yoga, you move ahead at your own level.

Living yoga retreat residentials help you to overcome loss of purpose, low achievement drive, complacency,  procrastination, even illness.
